Teddy bear Galya

Teddy bear Galya gathers her son Antoshka every weekend to bathe in a bathhouse on the other side of the village. This idea occurred to me when memories of my childhood surfaced. At that time, in a distant Siberian village, my mother gathered me to a bathhouse, dressed in a warm fur coat, and tied a large shawl over my head. In the winter in deep snow, in the fall in the rain or in the summer in extreme heat, at any time of the year we went every week to wash ourselves in a hot bathhouse that was far from home.

Teddy bear Galya sewn from antique plush, painted by hand in brown. She stuffed with fine wood sawdust. Limbs on five cotter pin connections. The eyes are black glass, sewn. The nose is embroidered with black thread and covered with natural wax. Teddy bear tinted with art oil.

Galya is dressed in a cotton beige sundress, over a linen green quilted jacket with metal buttons. On the head there is an openwork wool shawl, crocheted by hand. Knitted leggings and natural leather shoes on the feet. In the paws, Galya holds a birch broom and a bath basin made using papier mache technique. She will be a wonderful gift, decorate any home with her presence and will bring a lot of joy to both adults and children.
