Finally, we edited a video of my trip to Münster in 2019. I tried to indicate all the amounts of expenses, but on the way back I paid in cash, so prices are not indicated everywhere. Mostly the material for the video was obtained from the DVR, but since it erases the old data, not all the moments of our trip have been preserved. But I tried to identify the important points of the journey in subtitles. Happy viewing!
After breakfast at the hotel, we put all our belongings in a suitcase, pumped up tires at the car and, having said goodbye to the hotel manager, set off on our way back. It was a sunny day, there were few cars on the roads, so it was a pleasure to drive. We drove the same way as last time, but rarely overtook others. Basically, we drove in the middle row.
We noticed that there are very few sedans in Germany. People mostly ride hatchbacks — crossovers and station wagons. Sedans are very expensive car brands. It is possible to keep the «ship» in the garage very expensive. Near Hannover, we caught up with a small column of retro cars. Basically, these were the Volkswagen beetles. Cars were different colors, beautiful and well-groomed.
Approaching Berlin, we met another convoy of cars. This time there were police cars. They were driving in the second lane, and no one dared to overtake them, because they were already traveling with excess of the maximum speed. Arrow level of the amount of gasoline was approaching zero, and we stopped at a gas station Total. It was located a couple of kilometers from the road, the price there was 10 cents cheaper than on the highway (€ 1.44 per liter).
The Germans are fighting money for everything they can. Toilet, for example, costs from 0.5 to 1 euro. At the same time, the level of service is so low that it is not clear what you are paying for. Almost all gas stations, fast food restaurants, shops, visitors work. The level of knowledge of their German language is so low that they do not understand simple phrases derived from the dictionary and spoken with little or no accent. And even after a complete and correct proposal from them always follows a bunch of additional questions.
We arrived at the hotel at six o’clock. We settled in the room of the same hotel where we stayed on the way to Münster. For some reason, we were required to pledge at the entrance, although for the first time did not take anything. We found that, as for the first time, the room did not have enough towels. On top of that, the room was prepared for one person. The hotel manager scolded in Russian staff, and later we brought the missing bedding.
We decided before going to bed a little walk around the evening Berlin. We met many cafes and institutions with inscriptions in Russian. Some windows say «We speak Russian». Every two houses on the street male and female hairdressers, manicure salons and cafes. A lot of non-indigenous people who communicate in their own language, while looking at us with great hostility, although we behaved very correctly and complied with all norms of cultural behavior in a foreign country. Now we are sitting in a hotel room, which is more expensive than a room in Münster, but the appearance of the room is almost like in a hostel. Berlin left a very unpleasant impression. In the following trips we will try to avoid it in our itinerary.
